Achievement up to 30 April 2006:
Total Budget : IDR 412,5 million
Contracted/Self Managed : IDR 297 million
Disbursement : IDR 218,5 million (56% of the total budget or 74% of contracted budget)

BRR Nias FY2006 Progress
Total Budget: IDR 1.1 billion.
414 projects consist of 245 small projects (<> IDR 1 million).
Progress recorded to up to June 2006: 90% of the projects are in the tendering process, finishing up 2005 continuing projects, a number of 2006 projects has been started. Disbursed fund would reach 20% by mid July.
Progress of Housing Reconstruction in 2005
(Damage: 13,000 houses totally destroyed; 24,000 houses badly damaged; 34,000 houses partially damaged)
·2,228 newly built houses (1,276 houses were built by BRR)
·1,359 houses were repaired by BRR
·149 households received reconstruction reimbursement funds from BRR
·BRR will not accept low quality housings
BRR Housing Project Packaging
2005 Financial Year: 1,100 units to be built.
Direct appointment of contractors.
Divided into 73 small scale contractor packages and 5 medium scale contractor packages.
2006 Financial Year:
7,000 units to be built.
5,889 units to be repaired.
45 packages (43 small scale and 2 medium scale) has been started since February 2006.
107 packages has been awarded through pre-qualification.
BRR Infrastructure Projects 2005
Rehabilitation of 15 kms of provincial road.
Reconstruction of 41 kms (14 sections) of Kab. Nias road (+ 50%) & 4 road sections in Kab. Nias Selatan (+ 20%).
Reconstruction of 20 bridges.
Construction of 2 temporary piers (Lahewa & Gunungsitoli).
Rehabilitation of terminal & runway of Binaka Airport.
Normalization of 20 river sections in Nias & 5 rivers in Nias Selatan.
Construction of clean water piping system & public hydrant, public bathrooms in Lahewa, Sirombu, Tuhemberua, Hiliduho, Gunungsitoli Olora, Sirombu.
Improvement of Mid Voltage Transmission & Hi Voltage Transmission of 29 kms & household connection for 2,000 houses in Nias, replacement of AAAC 150 mm2 of 7 kms from Binaka to Baruzo; Genset 1 MW in Teluk Dalam, Mid Voltage Transmission & Hi Voltage Transmission of 17 kms, household connection for 1,425 houses in Nias Selatan.
BRR Infrastructure Projects 2006
Rehabilitation of 20 kms of provincial road.
Reconstruction of 67 kms (20 sections) of Kab. Nias road & 9 road sections in Kab. Nias Selatan (partially is a continuation from 2005).
Reconstruction of 22 bridges (continuation).
Construction of ports (Lahewa, Teluk Dalam, Tello Island), runway of Binaka and Lasondre Airports, 2 post offices (Lahewa, Sirombu), construction of meteorology-geophysic office, rehabilitation of 2 bus terminals.
Normalization of 12 river sections in Nias & 5 rivers in Nias Selatan (continuation).
Construction of sea defense structure in 2 locations.
Construction of primary/secondary drainage in Gunungsitoli, Lahewa, Teluk Dalam.
Provision of garbage equipment and transportation in Gunungsitoli & Teluk Dalam (4 garbage trucks, 4 armroll trucks+containers).
Construction/Rehabilitation of Nias & Nias Selatan Bupati’s Office, military HQ, Prison, State Radio Station & a number of government offices.
Construction of clean water piping network in Lahewa, Lotu, Gido, Alasa & Gunungsitoli (Sirao, Gomo, Sudirman), Gomo, Teluk Dalam, Lolowa’u.
Shifts and replaces electricity poles in Gunungsitoli (Gomo Street), replacement of Hi Voltage Transmission & Hi Voltage Transmission-AAAC 150 mm2 of 12 kms from Baruzo-Idano Gawo; Gunungsitoli-Binaka 70 kms, network widening in Sirombu by 400 household connections and Sorake by 65 household connections.
BRR Education Projects 2005
(Damage: 723 schools (90% of total school in Nias) or 3,500 clasrooms totally/partially ruine)
2005 Reconstruction Progress:
Rehabilitation of 52 schools (32 SD, 12 SMP, 8 SMU) & provision of 76 packages of furniture in Nias & 19 schools (12 SD, 5 SMP).
98 new schools are under construction.
9 prefabricated school installed by World Vision.
Unicef ditributed 200 tent schools.
Unicef distributed 130,000 school kits.
BRR distributed 42,260 textbook packages & library books.
Unicef distributed 192,454 textbook packages.
160 primary schools received school apparatus and clean water facility from Unicef.

Construction of 175 classrooms (SD 166 rooms, SMP 3 rooms, STT 6 rooms).
Furniture assistance (TK 4 rooms, SD 75 rooms, SMP 35 rooms SMU/SMK 15 rooms, university 10 rooms).
Unicef builds 40 schools.
BRR Health Projects 2005
(Damage:2 damaged hospitals, 173 damaged puskesmas & supporting puskesmas, 170 damaged posyandu)
2005 Reconstruction Progress :
Rehabilitation of Gunungsitoli General Hospital (2 wards and temporary hospital).
Construction of 2 puskesmas and paramedic housing in Nias & 1 puskesmas in Lahusa.
Provision of medical supplies and equipment.
Smallpox immunization for 160,000 children.
Food supplement programs for malnourished children.
Financial bonus for paramedics.

2006 Reconstruction:
Provision of medical equipments for Gunungsitoli General Hospital.
Construction of 1 puskesmas plus (in patient), 6 supporting puskesmas, 2 puskesmas (out patient) & 4 paramedic housing units in Nias Selatan.
Provision of medical supplies and equipments.
Food supplement programs for malnourished children.
Operational support provision for 20 puskesmas, 101 supporting puskesmas, 487 posyandu & bonus for paramedic in remote areas.
Scholarships for medical doctor (GP) and specialist.
BRR Economy Projects 2005
(Damage: 90% livelihoods were disrupted, mainly farmers and fishermen, economy dropped for more than 20%, 219 units of markets, shops & kiosks were damaged)
2005 Reconstruction Progress:
Construction of 8 traditional markets.
88 market kiosks built by BRR.
Provision of financial support for 6 brickmaker units and welders.
Training & financial supports for Micro Finance Institution (LKM) at 6 cooperation units.
Direct financial aid for 500 families.
11 batches of worker training, equipments provision for: 10 weld workshops, 24 brickmakers, 2 fishermen, 6 tofu/tempe makers.
BRR Economy Projects 2006
2006 reconstruction:
Construction of 12 traditional markets.
Small business financial support for 100 units, capital assistance for 6 Micro Finance Institution, & working/industry capital financial assistance for 200 households.
5 batches of worker productivity training, equipment and capital assistance for 21 groups of traditional miner.
BRR Agricultural and Fishery Projects 2005
(Damage: fishing boats were gone, fish catch down by 20-50%, technical irrigation structure ruined)
2005 Reconstruction Progress:
Construction of technical irrigation system (17 irrigation area for 3,138 Ha in Nias & 10 irrigation area for 2,015 Ha in Nisel)
60 units of rice mill, p60 units of small agricultural equipments, 8 hand tractors, 4 units of water pump.
300 boats, 600 units of fishing equipment & fish processing business capital assistance for 100 families.
FAO and Howu-Howu distributed boats and fishing equipments.
2006 reconstruction:
Construction of irrigation system in 7 irrigation areas.
50 units of rice mill, 20 hand tractors, 100 units of agricultural means of production, training and empowerment for 22 farmer groups.
Transfer of knowledge & rubber intensification of 450 Ha, cocoa 400 Ha.
Construction of fishing port, 10 units of fishing equipment, 18 boats, training on fish processing.
Medicine / vaccine assistance, rehabilitation of 2 slaughter houses, 2 veterinary clinics, training on chicken & pig farming.
Coral reef transplatation (2 locations).
Conservation plants seedlings 50 Ha.
BRR Religion, Social, Culture Projects 2005
(Damage: 1,938 worship places & a number of orphanage were destroyed)
2005 Reconstruction Progress:
Financial assistance for 200 worship places each with the amount of IDR 37.12 million (196 churches).
BRR disbursed IDR 1 billion for 4 main religion worship buildings (Islam, Protestant, Catholic, Buddha).
Rehabilitation of 4 orphanages.
Construction of 1 orphanage (Gunungsitoli).
2006 Reconstruction:
Financial assistance for 15 mosques & 336 churches each with the amount of IDR 37.12 million, rehabilitation of 2 Religion Affairs Office and 4 women course places.
Rehabilitation of traditional houses (Kab. Nias : 50 units & Kab. Nias Selatan: 50 units) & 10 cultural sites in Kab. Nias Selatan.
Furnitures for 2 orphanages (in Fodo, Teluk Dalam & Gido) & food assistance for 16 orphanages.
24 sets of traditional culture apparatus distribute to 22 districts & 1,750 sets of sport equipment for primary and secondary schools in 41 districts.
